Privacy

Confidential, not anonymous

We know who you are, and we protect it. That is a different promise from anonymity and we would rather be precise about it than reassuring.

What we collect

Your answers to the survey. Your first name and email address. Your last name and mobile number if you choose to give them. For the business survey, your company name, sector, size, role and county.

What we do with your answers

We analyse all responses, including the written ones, as part of the research. Written answers are analysed at company and state level, never as a record about you as an individual. Nothing you write is published with your name on it, and your employer never sees your individual response.

Who holds it

First Principle Global Management, the firm funding and conducting this research. The data sits in a managed database hosted in the United States, encrypted at rest and in transit. Only named research staff at First Principle can read individual responses.

Who never sees it

Your employer. Partner organisations. Any state agency. They receive aggregate results only — counts and distributions. Any group smaller than ten people is suppressed entirely, so nothing can be narrowed down to one person. No name, email, phone number, company name or written answer is ever exposed to them, in any form.

What we do with your contact details

We send you the findings when they publish, if you ticked that box. We text you about this research and related events only if you ticked the separate text-message box. Both boxes are optional and start unticked; a response is perfectly valid with neither. We do not sell your details, and we do not pass them to anyone.

If you tick neither box, we delete your phone number after 30 days and keep only the email address attached to your submission.

How to opt out

Reply STOP to any text message and that number is blocked immediately. To be removed from everything, email privacy@firstprincipleglobal.com and we will take you off the list.

How to have your response deleted

Email privacy@firstprincipleglobal.com and ask. We will delete your response and your contact details within 30 days and confirm when it is done. You do not have to give a reason.

Where the data lives and how long we keep it

The database is hosted in the United States. We keep individual responses for three years from the close of the study, so that the findings can be checked and re-analysed if they are challenged. After that, individual responses are deleted and only the aggregate results remain. Contact details are deleted at the same time, or sooner if you ask.
